The Super Bowl trailer for the upcoming zombie actioner World War Z, starring Brad Pitt, has landed online.

In the 30-second spot set to play this Sunday during the Super Bowl, Paramount decided to focus almost primarily on the action, as it highlights the zombie pandemic facing Brad Pitt in the adaptation of the Max Brooks novel.

Take a look at the trailer below, originally via Apple:

Directed by Marc Forster (Quantum of Solace), World War Z co-stars Mireille Enos, James Badge Dale, David Morse and Matthew Fox and “revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself.”

World War Z has undergone some serious production issues, causing Paramount to bring in Damon Lindelof (Prometheus, Lost) to completely rewrite the final act, delaying the film from a December 2012 release until its current scheduled release date of June 2013. Whether the film can overcome its very public production woes and deliver a competently made, entertaining film remains to be seen, although this trailer is a step in that direction.
