If you had to choose where to make your new home between a utopian small town with a tyrannical leader or an enormous, claustrophobic correctional facility, which would be your top pick? The Walking Dead cast lets us know their choices.

In the upcoming season of The Walking Dead, Rick and our main group discover a prison, which they decide to make their new home. The Governor, who is a new face this season, is the leader of the supposedly idyllic town of Woodbury. So which makes for the better home?

MTV asked the cast which place they would choose to settle down.

David Morrissey, who plays the Governor, initially says he would choose Woodbury without a doubt, but then modifies how he thinks people would like it.

“I think people would say they’d like to be in Woodbury without the Governor being there. But compared to the prison I think that it’s absolutely fantastic.”

According to Morrissey, he also preferred filming on the Woodbury set to filming on the prison set.

“That’s true in the story, it’s also true in the filming. Whenever I go and visit these guys in the prison, they’re always like, ‘We need to get back to Woodbury.’”

We think that Danai Gurira, who plays Michonne on the show, captures the essence of Woodbury the best when she says, “It’s a glossy town with a dark heart.”

Laurie Holden (Andrea) gives the best comparison.

“It’s tricky because it’s really heaven and hell in many ways, but home is where the heart is. My heart is with my friends, even though they’re in hell.”

Most of the cast seems to stick with their friends in the prison, but they all agree that Woodbury does seem a bit cleaner.

Creator Robert Kirkman quips that he’d choose Hawaii. In all seriousness though, he goes into why this debate is so important.

“The cool things about this show is that if you could decide, you would really pick neither.”

In the end though, Kirkman concludes, “Woodbury might edge out the prison a little bit.”

Glen Mazzara, showrunner for The Walking Dead, agrees with Kirkman.

“Woodbury’s a little nicer. It’s a tough choice. There’s no safe place.”

No, there really is no safe place when you’re struggling to survive in a zombie apocalypse.

Which place would you choose?
