A new Wonder Woman trailer debuted at Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards this weekend. Watch it here!

Saturday night marked the annual Nick’s Kids’ Choice Awards, which gave out awards to shows and stars such as Fuller House, Zendaya, Ghostbusters, Chris Hemsworth, Melissa McCarthy, Finding Dory and Chris Evans (see the full winners’ list at Billboard).

During the award show, a brand new trailer for Warner Bros. upcoming Wonder Woman aired, dubbed “Wonder Woman: Official Origin Trailer.”

As the title indicates, the trailer focuses on Diana Prince (Gal Gadot)’s backstory on Themiscyra, a nice introduction for those less familiar with the DC Comics source material:

This might be my personal favorite Wonder Woman trailer to date because it truly gives us an idea of who Diana is, where she comes from, and what drives her to do what she does (follow Steve back to ‘our world,’ which is in the middle of World War I).

Director Patty Jenkins has set the stage not just for an epic superhero movie — with a much-needed badass female lead character — but for a story that can emotionally resonate with a wide audience, and which will hopefully make everyone fall in love with the Wonder Woman character.
