Though the plot of Wolverine 3 has yet to be officially announced, a new report is teasing what villains Logan will be facing!
It was previously revealed that Boyd Holbrook will be playing Wolverine’s nemesis who is described as, “the chief of security for a global corporation.” As far as we know, this character isn’t based on anyone from the comics. Richard E. Grant was also revealed to be a villain who was only described as a mad scientist.
Now Nerdist has revealed that more familiar villains will be appearing in the film. Their report states, “A source close to the production told us that Reavers will be battling old man Logan in Wolverine 3.”
The Reavers are a group of cyborgs who received bionic implants to enhance their bodies. They originally operated out of a secret complex in an Australian town until they were defeated by the X-Men. The Reavers were then reorganized by Donald Pierce who has also a cyborg. Under Pierce the Reavers began to hunt mutants in an effort to wipe them out, especially Wolverine and the X-Men.
It’s possible that both Holbrook and Grant will be connected to the Reavers, teaming up to go after Logan. There’s also a rumor that X-23, a female clone of Wolverine, will be involved in the film. It’s possible that the Reavers, along with the mad scientist will create X-23 in an effort to combat Wolverine.
