The two masterminds behind the Harry Potter films sat down for a free flowing one-on-one conversation that will be a part of Harry Potter Wizard’s Collection!

Author J.K. Rowling and screenwriter Steve Kloves (who penned all but Order of the Phoenix) will appear together in “Part 7: Story” of “Creating the World of Harry Potter,” available exclusively within Wizard’s Collection. The previous six parts of the documentary can currently be seen in the Ultimate Edition sets.

Here’s how Warner Bros. sets it up: “Over the course of ten years, screenwriter Steve Kloves worked tirelessly with author J.K. Rowling to develop her magical books into films. From the beginning, Kloves had to decide what to keep, what to change and what to cut while staying true to Rowling’s vision, initially without even knowing how the series ended! Learn the story behind the stories as they sit down together for an intimate, free-flowing conversation.”

Watch this sample below, or read our transcript of a part of the conversation:

Below is a sample of the conversation:

J.K. Rowling: “I miss dashing off HRH. So many times, those three characters.”

Steve Kloves: “I usually wrote ‘The Trio.'”

Rowling: “That’s right! You did!”

Kloves: “I felt bad always giving Harry the lead because I thought it was more complicated than that. Because you could always say ‘Harry, Ron, and Hermione.’ ‘Harry, Ron, and Hermione.’ So I would say ‘The Trio.’ Or if I felt Hermione was psychologically leading a scene, in the script I would say, ‘Hermione, trailed by Ron and Harry.’ And same with Ron. Ron grew much stronger in the scripts of the last three movies because I realized –”

Rowling: “Yeah definitely. Late maturer, emotionally.”

Kloves: “Well because he was under the oppression of his brothers’ success.”

Rowling: “And then he has to make friends with the most famous boy in Wizarddom.”

Kloves: “But his family. And him being from a wizard family. Gives him an edge over both Harry and Hermione at a certain point. And his instincts are sharper than theirs.”

Rowling: “Yes, definitely.”

This one-on-one talk sounds like a fascinating discussion, and we cannot wait to watch the entire thing. Wizard’s Collection will be released September 7.
