The Wizarding World of Harry Potter’s Escape from Gringotts thrill ride will re-create the scene depicted in Deathly Hallows but with a few twists.

In a new video and stills released today by Universal Orlando, the theme park pulled the cloak off exactly what guests will experience as they dive into the Wizarding World’s iconic bank.

The ride will treat you as a bank customer who happens to come across Harry, Ron, and Hermione when they’re breaking into Gringotts (just like in the book and film). You will essentially be “caught in the middle of the action” and experience the scene from a new perspective. Bellatrix will have a prominent role in the ride, as will Bill Weasley, and even Voldemort will be appearing at the end.

In a press release Universal says that Escape from Gringotts features “the most innovative technology ever created, 360-degree themed sets, 4K digital high-definition animation, state-of-the-art 3-D Infitec projection systems and live special effects.”

Check out a new video depicting the Gringotts bank ride in great detail:

Warwick Davis explains in the video that after going through the water wall you’re “taken off in a new direction” through the vaults, presumably to escape. The ride is about four minutes long, and you need to be at least 42 inches tall in order to ride (that’s six inches lower than you have to be for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey).

Rupert Grint, who plays Ron, appears at the end of the video and makes a few brief comments about what it means for guests to come face to face with Voldemort.

Finally, check out some new stills below. Click each one to see it full size!

In this photo you can see Bill Weasley while Harry and Ron are on top of the dragon:

In this one we see Bellatrix and some goblins casting a spell:

Here’s a look at the Gringotts bank ride vehicle:

Based on what we learned today, it looks like Warwick Davis (Griphook), Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix), Domhnall Gleeson (Bill) and Rupert Grint (Ron) shot new scenes for the ride. It’s unclear if other actors like Dan Radcliffe (Harry) and Ralph Fiennes (Voldemort) did anything new for Universal or if they’re using clips from the movie.

Universal Orlando hasn’t announced an opening date for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter’s Diagon Alley.
