Since its opening in July, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park has been a tremendous success for Universal Orlando. The latest numbers show that the trend isn’t slowing down!

The Orlando Sentinel reports on Universal’s latest and greatest attendance numbers:

Universal announced Friday that attendance soared 68 percent during the first three months of the year — the biggest increase yet in a series of record attendance gains the resort has reported since opening its wildly popular Wizarding World of Harry Potter last June.

The big crowds fueled a dramatic financial rebound for Orlando’s No. 2 theme-park resort, which posted a $45.8 million profit for the quarter — after losing $36.4 million a year ago.

“We are very happy with how our year has started, and we are going to work to maintain that momentum as we move forward,” Universal Orlando President Bill Davis said in a prepared statement. “We continue to see excitement for everything we offer — from attraction experiences to special events, such as Mardi Gras.”

Combined attendance between Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure — home to Wizarding World — rose by 1.1 million visitors for the January-through-March quarter, from 1.7 million a year earlier to 2.8 million.

It’s so great to see that the Wizarding World has been such a success! Have you been to the park yet?
