Wither, Lauren De Stafano’s debut novel, has been optioned by Prospect Park and Violet House, which is owned by Aly and AJ Michalka.

Wither is set in a dystopian future where girls live to age 20 and men to 25.  The story follows Rhine, a girl who is kidnapped and taken to be a wife of the governor’s son.  Rhine is a fierce female character who isn’t willing to settle for the hand she has been dealt. Fever, the second book in the series, will release in February.
