The final season of Will and Grace will premiere much sooner than anticipated on NBC!

Network shuffle incoming! NBC has pushed up the premiere date of Will and Grace to Thursday, October 24, 2019 to fill the 9:30 p.m. time slot currently taken by the underperforming freshman comedy, Sunnyside. The Kal Penn-led series will gain one more episode, bringing the season to a total of 11 episodes and will finish its run on the NBC app and NBC.com.

Will and Grace was originally slated to premiere in 2020 with 18 new episodes. The final season, third of the revival and eleventh overall, will begin its conclusion alongside another farewell tour on the network, the fourth and final season of The Good Place.

With the announcement, a teaser video sets up the season. A smart move by the network, who is going to play with a plot twist that may take more than a week to get used to — Grace’s pregnancy.

Who is the baby daddy? Last we saw Grace, she was getting on a plane to follow a man she met in the airport, Marcus (Veep’s Reid Scott). They wouldn’t give her a pregnancy as a result of a flight TWICE in a series, right? Otherwise, unless there is a bit of a time jump, perhaps her beau Noah (David Schwimmer) is the dad. Regardless of whose sperm made this happen, it is going to be Will Truman who appears at the top of the call sheet for the role of “Dad.”

This is assuming that he and Matt Bomer (aka the news anchor with the skin of a dolphin McCoy) call off their engagement. This relationship was too beautiful to make it in this world. But I enjoyed the journey Will and Grace was willing to take us on in season 10.

Karen is soul searching and Jack is a married man. How will their lives change? Judging from the preview, anything is possible!

With filming underway since August, the cast and crew already have a few episodes under their belts with the likes of Demi Lovato, Vanessa Bayer, and the touching addition of Billie Lourd all on board for guest spots. The series will conclude production in December 2019.

If you’ve never heard of Sunnyside and are interested in checking it out, here is the synopsis:

“Garrett Modi (Penn), the youngest New York City Councilman ever who was living the American Dream but gets lost in his way amidst the power and glamour of politics. When his career ends after being busted for public intoxication, he’s hired by a diverse group of hopefuls who dream of becoming American citizens and believe he can help — giving him a new sense of purpose and a chance for redemption, as long as he remembers where he came from.”

There are currently three episodes available with the fourth slated to air on Thursday, October 17.

Will and Grace season 11, episode 1, “Eat, Pray, Love, Phone, Sex,” premieres Thursday, October 24 at 9:30 p.m. on NBC.
