As widely expected, singer Adele today confirmed she will perform her Golden Globe-winning song “Skyfall” at the 2013 Academy Awards next month.

The singer’s official Facebook page notes that it’ll be the first time she ever performs the song live, and her first public performance since last year’s Grammy Awards. “Skyfall” is nominated in the Best Song category.

Who else will perform at the 2013 Oscars? Last week we reported that the Les Miserables cast members were preparing either a sole number or a medley. This has not been confirmed, but it is a safe bet given they too are nominated in the Best Song category.

Adele was in great spirits at the Golden Globe Awards two Sundays ago. She was thrilled to have won for “Skyfall,” her song she composed for the James Bond movie of the same name. It was her first appearance since giving birth to her baby boy in October 2012.

The 2013 Oscar nominations were announced on January 10 and saw Beasts of the Southern Wild, Silver Linings Playbook, Zero Dark Thirty, Lincoln, Les Misérables, Life of Pi, Amour, Django Unchained, and Argo receive Best Picture nominations.

Skyfall in particular has been nominated for Best Cinematography, Best Score, Best Original Song, Best Sound Mixing, and Best Editing. In other words, it received no major nominations.

The Academy Awards will be held Sunday, February 24 and broadcast live on ABC.
