Christina Lauren will have you looking for your very own player to turn good with Wicked Sexy Liar!

London is the girl next door, surfer chick, who’s happy paying the bills as a bartender as long as she gets to enjoy her days at the beach. Yet her life avoiding men and any real goals has London yearning for something more. It definitely doesn’t help that all of her friends seem to be pairing up with their significant others, having her feel like a constant third wheel. So when Luke comes into her bar one night she can’t seem to resist his charms even though she knows his type, player.

Ever since Luke spent his younger years in a serious relationship, he’s been happy to play the field. Even though he never looked back on his breakup from Mia, Luke never really got over losing their close relationship. Meeting London throws Luke for a loop because she’s the first girl who has had him coming back for more since Mia, and yet London couldn’t be more different. First things first, they both have to overcome their pasts before they can from move from being friends with benefits, to something much more meaningful.

Wicked Sexy Liar is a change of pace in the Wild Season series, and in a good way. The first three books in the series followed three close knit friends who all happened to meet the loves of their lives in Las Vegas. However, Wicked Sexy Liar follows London, the roommate of one of the original three who did not go to the city of sin with the rest of them.

That doesn’t make her story any less exciting, sexy, or romantic. Her story is much more realistic, and for that reason easier to connect with, and even more enjoyable. Even though we loved the predecessors, we can’t help but feel like Wicked Sexy Liar makes the series even better than it was before.

Christina Lauren has also managed to make breaking the ultimate girl code seem like the best decision ever. When London meets Luke she has no idea that he’s actually the ex of one of her friends, but her continued relationship with him even after she finds out the truth leads to a better future for everyone. Her ability to handle the situation with grace allows Luke to mend his mistakes from the past, become a better person, and keeps the readers invested in the pair.

Don’t think that London gives Luke an easy time though, she has her other things on her mind besides his ex-girlfriend. With a past that has proven that men aren’t to be trusted, London has a lot to get over before she can fully commit herself to Luke. Sexy time is plentiful, but what we really enjoyed about Luke and London’s story was watching them grow together towards a new future neither expected.

As an added bonus, you get to learn more about Not-Joe from Dark Wild Night. Of course, you also get to see the original gang but London is more loosely associated with the other girls than we’re used to seeing. Which means that it would be pretty easy for a casual reader to get into Wicked Sexy Liar without reading the previous books in the series first.

London and Luke are such an enjoyable and fun couple that we felt the need to read the book twice in a row. It’s quickly become one of our favorites and it’s a definite must read, especially if you’re already a Christina Lauren fan!
