We all love the teens on Teen Wolf, but without the adult characters, our favorite MTV show just wouldn’t be the same.

So, Teen Wolf is mainly about the kids and their adventures, and we love them all, but let’s face it, it would not be nearly as great without the adult characters. Whether they are yelling, comforting, advising, or hunting, the adults keep the show from getting too teeny-bopper ridiculous. In our latest article for the Teen Wolf Takeover, we wax nostalgic about the adults of Beacon Hills.
Coach Finstock
Oh Coach. Who couldn’t love our dearest and most favorite Lacrosse coach on television? He brings a lighter, funny side to Teen Wolf that you desperately need when you have alphas and kanimas running around, and we love him even more for it. No matter whether Coach (played by Orny Adams) is reciting his favorite speech from Independence Day or yelling at Greenberg, we just can’t get enough. He never fails to bring a smile to our faces, especially when he’s yelling. He also manages to care about his players in and out of the classroom, but without losing the gruff, tough-as-nails attitude that we love so much. We love you Coach Finstock!

Melissa McCall
The resident mother of Beacon Hills, played most adeptly by Melissa Ponzio, is a beautiful addition to the show. She is a great role model for her son, and manages to be a good, concerned mother without smothering him or not paying any attention. While we know that other characters have mothers, and we’ve even seen Lydia’s briefly, the only one that we know well at all is Melissa McCall. She is not only a great mother to Scott, but she also mothers Stiles a bit from time to time. No one forces her to care about her son’s friends, but she takes them under her wing without a second thought. If Stiles needed a mother’s perspective on something, there is no doubt that he would come running to the McCall’s door for help. She is a brave, selfless woman and the Teen Wolf kids are lucky to have her around.

“Listen, dumb ass, I’m gonna let you in on a secret that most guys don’t even have a clue about; Women love words. You need to tell her how you feel. Just say it. Say it again. Say it differently. Learn how to say it better; learn how to sing it. You know? Just write it in a poem in a letter attached to flowers. Carve it in a tree, in the sidewalk in cement, in a tattoo on your arm. Just… tell her the truth.”
Sheriff Stilinski
The man behind the boy we love. Stiles is universally loved for his quirk, his wit, and his arm flailing, and the Sheriff is directly responsible for making Stiles into the young man we all know and adore. Played most skillfully by Linden Ashby, the Sheriff has managed to become a beloved member of the community, even to the werewolf contingent that keeps him in the dark ninety percent of the time. Whether he knows about the supernatural goings-on in Beacon Hills or not (and there has been much debate) he never surrenders to the pressure he is undoubtedly under. Despite the overwhelming chaos that a Sheriff’s job can create, he has managed to raise a magnificent young man. We can’t wait for the day when Sheriff Stilinski is in on all of Beacon Hills’ secrets and becomes a part of the scooby gang.

Chris Argent
One thing that Teen Wolf has never been short on is father-figures, and Chris Argent, brought to us by J.R. Bourne, is one interesting case. He has done his very best to raise a daughter outside of the craziness of the supernatural world, but also is not afraid to trust her with the hard truths. With the very recent death of two of her closest family members, her Aunt Kate and her mother, Victoria, Alison has faced an uphill battle with her emotions that her father has graciously done everything in his power to help her to conquer. He allowed his daughter to leave the country for a little time off, and now that she is back to the scene of the crime, he continues to insist on what is best for her. If every child was raised with a concerned, loving parent like Chris Argent, we’d have one heck of a generation of young people.

Dr. Deaton
One of the few role models around that does not fulfill the role of parent to one of our teenage characters, Dr. Deacon has stepped into the role of sage advisor for the werewolf brood with ease. Played brilliantly by Seth Gilliam, He has guided Stiles, Scott, Derek, and Isaac through many challenges and chimed in with the best information he has to get the wolfy crew the answers they need when the time arises. In addition to werewolf mentor, Deaton is also Scott’s boss at the Beacon Hills Veterinary Clinic and has taken a special interest in helping Scott through the particularly tough time he has had as of late.

“You might want to try from a different perspective. This is just entropy at work. And this is more of the natural way of the universe. But it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s falling apart. It’s just changing shape.”
Gerard Argent
Any truly great show has a great villain, and though he may not have made any appearances since the end of season 2, Gerard is still suspected to be lurking in the shadows. When a force like Gerard (played by the amazing Michael Hogan) disappears without a trace, there is little doubt that he will resurface with a vengeance when the time is right. Teen Wolf season 2 would have been much milder had Gerard not been around, and who knows what strings could be pulling behind the scenes of season 3. This is also the man behind Kate and Chris Argent, one of which seemed to get all of Gerard’s finest psychotic traits, while the other became a loving, devoted husband and father.

Ms. Morrell
Not a lot is known about Ms. Morell, played by Bianca Lawson. For the most part, she has given poor translations of archaic latin bestiaries, taught French, and snuck around abandoned banks in the middle of the night. We know that she has ties to Deaton, a much beloved fixture in Beacon Hills, so she can’t be all bad, but our resident mysterious woman better start showing her true colors, because her actions of late have left her open for some brutal character examinations. No matter what her role in the current action of the series, she has not seemed to want to harm our favorite wolfy crew since her introduction in season 2, so in the rankings of fishy behavior she is still well behind Gerard.

Ms. Blake
Ms. Blake is a character all new to season 3, and has already had some crazy things happen to her. Despite the suicidal flock of birds and the almost tragic boiler room/teacher’s supply room indecent with Boyd and Cora, Ms. Blake, portrayed by Haley Webb, seems to be up to the challenge. She has also struck Derek’s fancy, and we all know how hard it will be for her to chisel through the hardened layers of emotional sediment that he has guarding his heart, but she may just be up to the challenge. We may not know her very well yet, but we cannot imagine not liking her by season’s end.

Peter Hale
From Super-Alpha to dead to resurrected to snark king of Beacon Hills, Peter Hale, also known as the one and only Ian Bohen, has been a vital part of Teen Wolf. Throughout season 1, he was the primary villain, and played his part superbly, but now that he has been brought back to life courtesy of Lydia, we have a whole new Peter Hale. He has played a minor role in season 3 so far, but we see big things happening for his character down the road. You can’t keep a character like Peter Hale in the background for long. We all know he’s up to something, the only question is, what?
