The Teen Wolf fandom is going crazy after last week’s episode where one of the characters failed to answer the question of whether or not he liked boys. Now we can’t stop thinking about the possibility!

In case you somehow forgot the scene in question, check it out on YouTube:

At 35 seconds into the video, Stiles asks Caitlin if she likes boys, to which she says yes and then asks if Stiles does. He doesn’t answer, but instead pauses to think about it before Caitlin kisses him again.

Jeff Davis, executive producer of Teen Wolf, has flat out stated that, “We’ve certainly made some hints to the possibility of Stiles being bisexual,” and this scene goes to prove he wasn’t just trying to please the Sterek shippers.

We’ve gone ahead and listed why we think a bisexual Stiles would be the best move Teen Wolf can make in terms of character development.

It’s original.

There are several shows out there with LGBT characters, but something’s missing: The Q. Lately more shows are addressing the fact that the LGBTQ community exists by adding a gay or lesbian character to the series as a regular, but never do they show a character who’s questioning his or her sexuality.

There’s only been one show on a major TV network right now, as far as we know, that has had a character address their sexuality with, “You know what? Maybe I do like the same gender, and that’s fine.” Grey’s Anatomy did it and now it’s time for Teen Wolf to do the same, and Stiles Stilinski should be the character that has the revelation.

It’s meaningful.

MTV is filled with a bunch of TV shows about teen drama, pregnancies, and other superficial crap, but Teen Wolf has a chance to change the stakes.

When a young person watches TV, all they’ll see are shows filled with people who are confident in their sexualities, but TV has yet to address/align with the people who are still unsure of themselves. There are so many people who don’t know if what they want is okay, who are struggling with the idea of sexuality, and TV has become such a huge part of the social structure that it’s about time we have a show with a character to identify with them.

A bisexual and/or questioning Stiles is more than just another LGBTQ character on TV. It’d be a shout-out to the kids watching who are also questioning. It’ll be a way to let them know that hey, yeah, people question sexuality all the time, and if you think you like the same gender then that’s totally and completely acceptable, even if you’ve never had experience with them before.

It opens up more possibilities.

The great thing about Teen Wolf is that in their world, sexuality is not a huge deal; no one really makes a fuss if you’re gay or straight. Getting Stiles to like boys would mean that his love life is open to way more possibilities, and we absolutely love that idea.

This isn’t just the Sterek shipper in us talking, although that’s one of the reasons we’re excited to see bisexual Stiles. He’s always awkward enough as it is with girls, so can you imagine how hilariously awesome it would be to see Stiles approach a guy? We’re positive that Dylan O’Brien can make bisexual Stiles just as hilariously awkward around guys as he is around girls.

Plus, there are so many other characters in Beacon Hills that Stiles could potentially end up with or flirt/kiss if he was bi. The shipping options would be endless, and we’re hardcore shipping pirates at Hypable, so you can definitely find some of us shipping ALL THE SHIPS.

Ultimately, a bisexual or questioning Stiles is something that would not only make a bunch of sense, but would be one of the best moves Teen Wolf can do in terms of character development. We’re excited to see what they do with him.

Would you like to see a bisexual Stiles?
