Following a tweet from one of the show’s original stars last night, The CW has now announced that Whose Line Is It Anyway? will be returning with new episodes!

In a press release, The CW says the show “features the return of Ryan Stiles, Wayne Brady and Colin Mochrie, who along with a special guest each episode, must put their comedic skills to the test through a series of spontaneous improv games. Prompted only by random ideas supplied by the studio audience and host Aisha Tyler, our four performers must use the little information they have and their wild imaginations to depict different characters and an array of scenes, as well as perform songs. After each round of improvisation, Aisha will dole out points to our four performers and declare a winner at the end of every episode.”

As you can tell, Drew Carey will not be back to helm. The new host is The Talk’s Aisha Tyler. Carey is likely unavailable because of his weekly duties hosting CBS’ The Price is Right. We hope he’ll come on for the aforementioned “special guest” seat from time to time.

We’re thrilled Whose Line Is It Anyway? is coming back! A release date hasn’t been set yet. We’ll keep you updated as more information is made available.
