If you watched last night’s episode of The Whispers you, like Wes Lawrence, may not have known how to explain what you saw. What could Drill possibly be planning next? (Spoilers ahead!)

The events of “Meltdown” may have you scratching your heads, but rest assured there is no doubt Drill has plans ahead that will not end so happily for the people involved, and probably for mankind as well.

Here are just a few things we can think of that might be up Drill’s sleeve next after last night’s events:

1. That energy/radiation was simply transported somewhere else. Maybe the desert?

We already know that Drill has the ability to redirect things to the African desert where Sean Bennigan’s plane was found. He was supposedly flying over the Arctic Circle when his plane went down, but he crashed in the desert in Africa. If Drill did simply re-locate all that radioactive smoke to somewhere else on Earth, the question we have to ask is: Why?

2. Drill was simply trying to out himself a little with a blatant display of power

Drill has kept himself under the radar so far by manipulating children and working quietly toward his goals, but maybe he wants a few adults to see what he’s capable of. After all, as an invisible entity, Drill isn’t exactly easy to find or stop anyway. Maybe he just wanted to put fear in the eyes and minds of the adults that were working so hard to stop Sean Bennigan from playing out plans that weren’t ever his. We couldn’t think of a better way to do that than to harness the radioactive plume right in front of their eyes.

3. All that radioactive particulate will come back to haunt us when we least expect it.

Is Drill stockpiling energy and radioactive weapons to use later? If he could make that plume disappear in front of our eyes, than surely he can choose to unleash that same plume at will somewhere else. We’ve seen what kinds of things he’s been capable of so far, including: manipulating anything electrical, returning Henry’s ability to hear, reviving Harper’s mother from her coma, and finally, manipulating radioactive smoke, so who knows what he’ll show us next.
