The Sleepy Hollow season 2 premiere is mere weeks away, and we’ve got the refresher you need so you can be all caught up by the time it’s here.

Even though all of Sleepy Hollow season 1 is now available on Hulu Plus, we realize that some people just don’t have the time or the access, so that’s why we wanted to help you out with this refresher article. Obviously, season 1 spoilers ahead.

Abbie Mills is in purgatory.

Last we saw her Abbie got trapped in a dollhouse version of purgatory when she and Ichabod went to save Katrina. Despite the save being successful, only Ichabod and Katrina were able to make it out. But don’t worry, according to the season 2 trailer both Ichabod and Abbie make it out alive at some point – presumably in the season premiere.

Ichabod Crane is underground.

Not only is Abbie stuck in purgatory but Ichabod is in a bind himself – quite literally. When faced with the dilemma of who Henry really is, he got pushed into a wooden coffin underground by the four white oak trees where the second Horseman rose. But fear not, we have a feeling Ichabod will get out and be back in his A game in no time!

Henry Parrish is really Jeremy Crane

Yeah, you read that right. We don’t know how you could’ve forgotten the series’ biggest twist, but in case you have now you know! Henry (or do we call him Jeremy now?) told his parents about his true identity once they got back from purgatory, and set them on their own paths to doom and torture.

Confused about how an old man alive in 2013 could be Ichabod and Katrina’s kid born in the 1700s? Well, Jeremy was born a witch (naturally, since Katrina is one as well) and he was also incredibly powerful. The Sisterhood of the Radiant Heart feared him after he accidentally used his powers to kill the abusive head of the orphanage he was at, so they put a spell on him that stopped his heart and buried him underground.

Lucky for him and unlucky for us, Jeremy was in his grave for 200 years before Moloch approached him with a deal to make him the Horseman of War. He took up the offer, and rose 13 years previously right by St. Henry’s Parrish, where he got his new name.

Katrina is with the horseman.

When confronted by her son after escaping purgatory, Katrina got whisked away by the Headless Horseman as a deal he made with Henry. We’ll be seeing Katrina interact with the Horseman a lot more this season, and since he’s her former fiancé, Abraham Van Bront, things will get interesting. We learned at Comic-Con that their relationship will have a Beauty and the Beast type vibe, so that should definitely be fun to see.

Captain Irving is in jail.

Unfortunately for Ichabod and Abbie, their biggest help in the police department likely won’t be available to help as often as he did last season. Last season Irving’s daughter, Macey, got possessed by a demon and killed a few people, and at the end of the season Irving was the one who took the blame to save her from prosecution. And his replacement is going to be far less forgiving this season than he was!
