Sure, we’re all excited for our favorite shows to return this season. But what Fall television will you be trying out for the first time?

I’ve selected a few shows I promised myself I’m going to get into, and I’d like to tell you why.

There’s no shortage of shows starting this week, and with so many options you’re bound to enjoy a few.

Hypable has naturally made me pay attention to television more, and here are shows launching that I’m full committing myself to – for now:

Glee: No one is a stranger to this show, but over the past couple of years I’ve held off on getting into FOX’s hit because I initially wasn’t a fan of how the show would take classic songs, Glee-ize them, and thrive off of the new, candy-like personality. What about the original song, which was so good that Glee decided to cover it in the first place? With the exception of a few songs, many original don’t jump back up the iTunes charts.

With that aside, I’m getting into the show for it’s uplifting story and fun cast. Creator Ryan Murphy says he’s much more confident in the show, which in turns make me interested in checking it out after seeing bad reviews for the sophomore season. Oh, and it’s fun to cover on Hypable.

Playboy Club/Pam Am: I’m sticking these two shows together because I want to watch them for the same reason. Mad Men made me (and so many others) very interested in period dramas. Playboy Club and Pan Am both follow life in the 60s, and if they’re anything like Mad Men then you can count me in. I’m at least willing to give them a try, although THR’s review of the former show leaves me unexcited.

X Factor: Simon Cowell returns to American television. That’s the only reason I’m paying attention to this one because otherwise it’s just like any other talent competition. Cowell too has admitted that the competition space is a crowded one, but given the success of this show overseas I have faith that it’ll stand out above the rest.

Two and a Half Men: It’s one of CBS’ most successful shows, but Charlie Sheen’s presence never kept me interested. With Sheen now gone I’ll be interested to at least see where the story is going and if it can continue to hold its strong ratings. I’ve never been into many CBS

Of course, these aren’t the ONLY shows I’m watching this Fall. There are several I’ve been into during previous years that I plan to tune in for again. The Walking Dead and Boardwalk Empire, for example, have promising seasons ahead. The Office will be interesting if only to see what’s in store for Dunder Mifflin in a Michael Scott-free era.

So tell us: What shows are YOU getting into for the first time?
