The eighth episode of Girls just aired Sunday night, and season 2 is almost nearing its end. What did you think of Adam’s new love interest and Hannah’s parents visiting the city? Give us your feedback!

In the eighth episode of Girls season 2, “It’s Back,” we got to see a lot more of the other characters that we’ve been itching for the previous seven episodes. Jessa’s gone and presumably not coming back, which leaves us with the rest of the gang to look after.

Charlie’s developed a successful app and landed himself a sweet gig because of it  (like, corner-office-in-Chelsea-super-hip-workplace successful). Marnie is ecstatic for him (read: way jealous) and decides to stop by the office and see how Charlie’s doing. His app, called Forbid, prevents people from calling someone they really don’t want to talk to. Coincidentally, Marnie was Charlie’s inspiration!

It seems as though Marnie still can’t get over how quickly Charlie’s been able to move on while she seems stuck in a rut. What does she really want to do? Sing, of course! And when she belts out a few lines of Norah Jones for Ray, she’s definitely got some vocal chops. (Allison Williams is a phenomenal singer in real life, after all.)

Ray and Shoshanna have a little tiff while strolling in Washington Square Park, near the NYU campus. Shosh wants to go to the hottest party that her friend Radhika is having that night, while Ray objects, thinking it might be creepy for a 33-year-old dude to attend a college bash (which really, is true). In a huff, Shoshanna stomps off.

Hannah is on the brink of meltdown, counting everything, from potato chips to the times she opens her apartment door, in sets of eight. When her parents come visit for the weekend, they can’t help but notice the return of Hannah’s nervous ticks (hence the title, “It’s Back). They demand that Hannah see a psychologist, which she does, and admits that the stress of writing a book on deadline has forced her to lapse back into the OCD she suffered in high school. We find out some really sad details about her condition; how she would stay up all night just rearranging the toothbrushes in the bathroom 64 times, only to decide they still didn’t look right.

At the party of the “richest Hindi” she knows, Shoshanna can’t stop gabbing on the couch about… err, something important. It’s obvious Radhika isn’t really into the conversation, so Shoshi steps out and is confronted by the dashingly handsome doorman. After some flirtatious banter, the two step behind the counter and get down to a full-on makeout session.

Probably the most poignant part of the episode happens when Adam gives a monologue in AA about how he’s been struggling since he and Hannah broke up; he “liked knowing that she was going to be there, and warm, and staying the night.” Afterward, a very forward woman comes up to him and suggests he goes on a date with her daughter, Natalia. When they finally go out, after Adam leaves her the most adorably creepy voicemail message,  Natalia is incredibly pretty, smart, and seems charmed by Adam (yay!)

In “It’s Back,” it appears as if the boys of Girls have really got everything together with their relationships, careers, and general well-being. The girls, on the other hand, are deteriorating with each episode. Shoshanna might be figuring out that settling down with Ray isn’t what she should be doing so young; Marnie is realizing that her dreams of art curation are falling by the wayside; Hannah’s OCD may prevent her ultimate dream of becoming a writer.
