You don’t have to wait until Westworld season 2 premieres to be hopelessly confused!

The episode titles and descriptions have been released for the first five episodes of season 2, and they offer plenty to contemplate. Here are the official details:

Episode 11 (season 2, episode 1): “Journey into Night”
Written by Lisa Joy and Roberto Patino; directed by Richard J. Lewis.
“The puppet show is over, and we are coming for you and the rest of your kind. Welcome back to Westworld.”

Episode 12 (season 2, episode 2): “Reunion”
Written by Carly Wray and Jonathan Nolan; directed by Vincenzo Natali.
“Why don’t we start at the beginning?”

Episode 13 (season 2, episode 3): “Virtù e Fortuna”
Written by Roberto Patino and Ron Fitzgerald; directed by Richard J. Lewis.
“There is beauty in who we are. Shouldn’t we, too, try to survive?”

Episode 14 (season 2, episode 4): “The Riddle of the Sphinx”
Written by Gina Atwater and Jonathan Nolan; directed by Lisa Joy.
“Is this now? If you’re looking forward, you’re looking in the wrong direction.”

Episode 15 (season 2, episode 5): “Akane No Mai”
Written by Dan Dietz; directed by Craig Zobel.
“ショーグン・ワールドへようこそ (Welcome to Shogun World)”

Some of these episode titles are very telling, especially those in different languages. For example, episode 5 features a Japanese title, and very clearly indicates that we’ll be visiting the Shogun World park! We saw a sneak peek of this park in the final episode of Westworld season 1, but it’ll be great to take a closer look.

Episode 3, “Virtù e Fortuna,” looks like it could take us to the already announced Roman World. Episode 4, “The Riddle of the Sphinx,” is also interesting. The sphinx reference indicates a potential for an Egyptian park, but the episode description could mean that we’ll be visiting Futureworld.

One thing’s for sure, these episode titles and descriptions have made us even more excited for the speculation that will come from the first episode of Westworld season 2, which premieres on April 22 on HBO.

What do you think the ‘Westworld’ season 2 episode titles mean?
