HBO’s Westworld stars Anthony Hopkins, Evan Rachel Wood and James Marsden, and looks amazing!

This fall, HBO is debuting Westworld, the TV remake of the 1973 movie of the same name by Michael Crichton.

With a cast list boasting names like Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright, Tessa Thompson, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Jimmi Simpson, Rodrigo Santoro, and Clifton Collins, Jr., this new series already had us intrigued.

The premise — an adult theme park with robots set in a Wild West-era America — did nothing to dim our excitement.

And now, the first proper teaser trailer from HBO has cemented our certainty that Westworld is going to be our new favorite show:

It looks like the Wild West setting is actually a simulation — part of the theme park experience, perhaps? And intriguingly, the story seems to be told from the POV of Evan Rachel Wood’s character, one of the robots serving clients in the titular Westworld. Interesting!
