Director Wes Anderson was the focus of one of SNL’s latest skits last night which features a fake trailer for a horror film which stars Ed Norton as Owen Wilson in a very Anderson-esq styled trailer.

While most fans are greatly anticipating director Wes Anderson’s next film The Grand Budapest Hotel, which saw its first trailer land online last week, today we have a trailer which was featured on SNL. Watch the impeccably well created fake horror film’s trailer below:

It’s not often that SNL executes something so perfectly. Ed Norton was the host last night and he might have done the best Owen Wilson we’ve ever seen. Wes Anderson fans will most likely notice the dozens of nods to his previous films and the style of the fake horror trailer is so on point that it’s spooky.

In case you missed it, the fake film is titled The Midnight Coterie of Sinister Intruders.

With Halloween coming up this Thursday, we can only imagine how incredible it would be for fans to see this fake horror film be released in theaters this week. Ed Norton did an incredible job portraying Owen Wilson, who is known for being a very close friend of Anderson and also co-writes the majority of the unique and inspiring director’s films.

While it’s unlikely we’ll get something as brilliant as this anytime soon, at least we have Wes Anderson’s next film The Grand Budapest Hotel which will also feature Norton, and has a March 7, 2014 release date. But honestly, who wouldn’t want to see this horror film?

Wes Anderson’s last film was Moonrise Kingdom, which also starred Ed Norton. It was a massive critical success and his second biggest box office hit behind his massively popular film The Royal Tenenbaums, which was featured quite prominently in the spoof trailer.

The Grand Budapest Hotel stars Ralph Fiennes, F. Murray Abraham, Edward Norton, Mathieu Amalric, Saoirse Ronan, Adrien Brody, Willem Dafoe, Léa Seydoux, Jeff Goldblum, Jason Schwartzman, Jude Law, Tilda Swinton, Harvey Keitel, Tom Wilkinson, Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, and introduces Tony Revolori.
