Check out three new Fringe season 5 premiere sneak peeks released that show glimpses of Peter, Walter and Astrid adjusting to the future.

In the first clip, Astrid and Peter are making small discoveries about what has changed since they were ambered 21 years ago (including the invention of “egg sticks”). Astrid is using a fancy new computer device to learn the meaning of the word “Naugahyde,” while Peter and Walter discuss how they’re going to locate Olivia. The day she disappeared, in 2015, she called Walter, who also reveals a small part of the puzzle which will help the group defeat the Observers.

In the second sneak peek, our characters learn the fate of Central Park (it’s not pretty), which the Observers have paved in an attempt to reduce the oxygen levels on the planet to better accommodate their own existence. The characters speculate that Olivia could be trapped in a nearby lump of amber, and Walter alludes to Peter having abandoned them (probably in his search for Etta). This is also when we are introduced to amber gypsies, who cut out blocks of amber with people trapped inside to sell them as furniture. We really hope that Olivia isn’t displayed somewhere as a piece of art!

In the final clip, Etta takes Walter, Peter and Astrid to the market, where they can find the amber gypsies. She gives them walnuts as currency (well, they are delicious), and they are taken to the “fresh cuts.” Do you think finding Olivia will be that easy, or will she actually not be found with the gypsies?

Fringe returns tomorrow night with “Transilience Thought Unifier Model-11,” which airs at 9/8c on Fox! We can’t wait to see what happens in the final season of the show! It’s only 13 episodes, but under the leadership of Joel Wyman we’re sure it’s going to be spectacular.
