After concerns from New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, the Weinstein Co. have “unanimously voted to terminate” chief operating officer David Glasser “for cause.”

It has been a week since Attorney General Eric Schneiderman filed a lawsuit against the Weinstein Co, citing “egregious violations of New York’s civil rights, human rights, and business laws.” Though the lawsuit specifically named co-founders Bob and Harvey Weinstein, Schneiderman mentioned Glasser in a news conference following the complaint.

“The COO David Glasser, who supervised the human resources department, did not stop this discrimination, harassment and abuse, even though he was in charge of handling dozens of shocking complaints,” Schneiderman said at that conference, according to The LA Times.

The full statement from the Weinstein Co., as released on Friday, stated, “The board of the Weinstein Company has unanimously voted to terminate David Glasser for cause.” They have not provided further comment at this time.

A sale with former Obama administration official Maria Contreras-Sweet is allegedly still on hold. With Attorney General Eric Schneiderman’s lawsuit ongoing, it may be a while yet before we see a resolution and compensation for the systemic abuse that took place at the Weinstein Co.
