The weekend box-office totals are in, as Liam Neeson’s R-rated feature The Grey has taken the crown handily. One for the Money, based off the best-selling novel by Janet Evanovich, was hurt by a 3% Rotten Tomatoes score, yet managed third place thanks in large part to a Groupon deal. More information and a complete top five from the weekend after the jump!

Before we get into more details, here are the top five from this weekend:

1. The Grey – $20 million – Newcomer | 79%
2. Underworld: Awakening – $12.5 million (-50.8%) – Week Two | 30%
3. One for the Money – $11.7 million – Newcomer | 3%
4. Red Tails – $10.4 million (-45.5%) – Week Two | 35%
5. Man on a Ledge – $8.3 million – Newcomer | 24%

It will be interesting to see the holdover for The Grey next weekend, while we enjoyed it, the film earned a pretty though B- CinemaScore, and audiences will no-doubt complain of misguided marketing. Either way, we suggest taking a trip to the theaters anyway.

Now on to the box-office failures…One for the Money, which stars Katherine Heigl in the adaptation of the Janet Evanovich novel, seemed poised for a complete failure following it’s lowly Friday tally as well as a terrible 3% on Rotten Tomatoes, but thanks to a Groupon half-off deal for the film this weekend, One for the Money was able to avoid being a complete disaster. Meanwhile, Man on a Ledge suffered terribly, making for the second straight week that a wide-release has opened in the number five slot for a weekend domestically. Thankfully for Summit, a B+ CinemaScore will probably help the film in the coming weeks.

Did you see any of these films in theaters this weekend?
