Hannibal season 2 has added another therapist to the mix, but just who will be his patient?

It looks like everyone on Hannibal will need some help, with Martin Donovan joining the show as (another) therapist. Donovan will play Jack Crawford’s (Laurence Fishburne) therapist at the FBI.

It is not yet clear how prominent Donovan’s role will be. It will apparently allow for the possibility of a recurring role, and he will guest early on in the season.

Donovan’s recent roles have included Homeland, Boss and The Firm.

It looks like Jack Crawford will feature prominently in Hannibal season 2, as the FBI director tries to piece together just exactly what went wrong during season 1.

There is no wonder that Crawford feels the need to seek professional help, and that he may not wish that help to come from Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikklesen).

Cynthia Nixon will also be spending some time with Fishburne, who was added to the second season of the NBC thriller as Crawford’s boss. She will be investigating those very events that landed Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) in jail.

Gina Torres, who portrayed Crawford’s wife in season 1, is also set to return. Hannibal showrunner Bryan Fuller recently tweeted a picture of Torres in (what we like to term) the “flower crown of gratitude.”

Fuller has previously tweeted photos of the rest of the Hannibal cast in their flower crowns. The photos are a way for the cast and production team to thank their fans, who have an affinity for flower crowns.

Thanks, TV Line.
