The final installment in The Twilight Saga brings with it a slew of fresh faces; however, you may have seen more than a few of these actors before. In this Breaking Dawn edition of our “We knew they looked familiar” series, we highlight a few of the lesser known actors that have stepped into one of our favorite franchises.

Maggie Grace

Character in Breaking Dawn: Irina

You might recognize her from:

Taken & Taken 2, Lost

Her role in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 is mostly as the catalyst for the intense Volturi/Cullen showdown, and Maggie Grace is no stranger to starting trouble. You may remember her role in both Taken and Taken 2 as Kim, the daughter of Bryan Mills (played by Liam Neeson) who gets kidnapped on a trip to Europe and has to be rescued by her father. She also made quite an impression on Lost playing Shannon Rutherford, Boone’s step sister. Maggie will be appearing next in The Following, a crime drama about a serial killer and a cop and the complicated relationship between a criminal and his captor years after their first encounter.

Cameron Bright

Character in Breaking Dawn: Alec

You might recognize him from:

Dark Angel, X-Men: The Last Stand, Juno

Alec, played brilliantly by Cameron Bright, and his twin sister Jane (played by Dakota Fanning) are two of the most sadistic members of the Volturi clan, as he takes pleasure in depriving his victims of all their senses in order to debilitate them so they can be easily killed. You may remember Bright from his appearances in Dark Angel as Johnny, or from Juno where he played an RPG nerd, but his most recognizable role outside The Twilight Saga would definitely be Jimmy the “leech” from X-Men: The Last Stand. He played the bald boy whose power was to neutralize others’ abilities, something that piqued the interest of those wishing to rid the world of mutants.

Myanna Buring

Character in Breaking Dawn: Tanya

You might recognize her from:

Doctor Who, Grindhouse

Tanya in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn is a member of the Denali clan, the closest thing the Cullens have in way of friends. In Part 2, they are called to stand with the Cullens and confront the Volturi about the innocence of Renesmee, and she is played by the stunning Myanna Buring. She may seem familiar, especially if you are a Doctor Who fan. She appeared in Season 2, Episode 8 “The Impossible Planet” as Scooti Manista, a trainee maintence officer that meets her untimely demise when Toby is possessed by a mysterious spirit. She has also had a small part in the Quentin Tarrantino film Grindhouse, and will be appearing in the upcoming Downton Abbey Christmas Special.

Christopher Heyerdahl

Character in Breaking Dawn: Marcus

You might recognize him from:

True Blood, Supernatural, Smallville

Christopher has played Marcus, one of the most powerful members of the Volturi, in the last 3 installments of The Twilight Saga, but you may recognize him from a lot of other places. Since his television debut on 21 Jump Street in 1987, Heyerdahl has taken on many different supernatural roles and characters including: Zor-El on Smallville, Alistair on Supernatural, and Caulder in Blade:Trinity. His most recent television appearance as Dieter Braun on True Blood plays right to his acting strengths as he portrays an intelligence specialist for the Vampire Authority with a penchant for torture to get information.

Andrea Gabriel

Character in Breaking Dawn: Kebi

You might recognize her from:

Gossip Girl, Lost, House

Her role in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 may be limited, she does after all play the mate to Amun which involves a certain amount of cowardice, but we’ll leave that for the movie. You may recognize her from her 3 episode stint on Gossip Girl playing Amira, a middle eastern friend of Chuck’s that quickly gets caught up in the relationship drama, or from Lost where she played Sayid’s long lost love Nadia, who was reunited with him when he returned from the island, only to be ripped apart permanently. She also made a short visit to House where she played Ronnie, a clinic patient, and put her comedic skills to good use.

Christian Camargo

Character in Breaking Dawn: Eleazar

You might recognize him from:

Dexter, The Hurt Locker, The Good Wife

Last, but certainly never least, is Christian Camargo who portrays Eleazar of the Denali clan in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2. He is a valuable ally to the Cullens as a former member of the Volturi and offers valuable information as to how they will handle the Renesmee situation. Christian has made quite a name for himself through the other roles he has accumulated, including roles in The Hurt Locker and The Good Wife, but one of his most noteworthy roles is that of Rudy Cooper, aka Brian Moser, on Dexter. He helped the Ice Truck Killer to shine in all his evil glory and was a huge part in the success of the show’s first season.
