Comic-Con kicks off its big movie news in Hall H with Justice League, Blade Runner: 2049, and Ready Player One. Here’s our panel recap and trailers.
WB kicked off their panel at 11:30 a.m. PT and the lineup included Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller and Ray Fisher.
Also joining the panel were Blade Runner: 2049‘s Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford, as well as Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Robin Wright, Lennie James and Mackenzie Davis, writers Hampton Fancher and Michael Green, and the film’s director, Denis Villeneuve.

12:57 (Final post) Momoa just revealed the ships in Aquaman are Ocean Master’s army. “I’m fighting my brother.”
12:50 The cast answered where they were when they got the call about their roles. Gal Gadot was on a plane and she started screaming. Jason Momoa was in Zack Snyder’s office. Ezra was eating fish in Costa Rica.
12:46 We just saw the Justice League trailer with great new footage. It looks like Alfred might have been talking to Superman at the end. When the lights came up, Momoa is running around and tossing chairs. He actually broke one and they had to bring another one out on stage for him.
12:38 Affleck is adamant that despite rumors he’s leaving Batman behind, he’s so grateful to be playing Batman. “It’s the coolest fucking thing.” Ezra is the biggest fanboy. Momoa says Aquaman is jaded and he doesn’t belong on land or sea, so he goes with the tides. He’s just a big onion. Based on Affleck’s comments, it sounds like the rumors of his departure are not true.
12:33The cast arrives, walking through the crowd. Wonder Woman and Gal Gadot keeps getting the loudest cheers.
12:29 We saw footage of Aquaman where a couple of fishers catch onto something that drags their boat along. We see ships under the water that look like sting rays and sharks. At the end, we see Aquaman with a sword. “You don’t want to talk about this, do you?”
12:25 Momoa just ran through the crowd with his trident and everyone went nuts.
12:18 Another fan asked if it’s Ford’s life goal to reboot every movie he’s bene in. “You bet your ass it is.”
12:17 Another fan asked when it really sunk in that they’re doing another Balde Runner. Gosling says it still hasn’t. He feels like this is an elaborate episode of Punk’d.
12:16 A fan asked what advice the actors would give their characters. Gosling says, “Don’t mistakenly go in Harrison’s trailer.” “Good advice,” Ford replies.
12:14 We just a clip with Ryan Gosling at its center. It focused on memories from the past, audio clips about Decker and his interactions with replicants.
12:07 Hardwicke asked Harrison Ford if this movie answers any questions he had left over. After a long pause, he said, “It doesn’t matter what I think.”
12:02 The cast is now on stage. Hardwicke asked what made Director Denis Villeneuve want to do this movie. “I didn’t want anyone to fuck it up.” The original is his favorite movie of all time, so he wanted to make sure this one was done right.
11:57 Jared Leto just came on stage to talk about the importance of Blade Runner and what it means to him, plus why this new movie is important. We thought he was really there, but it was just an incredible hologram!
11:55 We got a full timeline explaination of Blade Runner from 2019 until now and a teaser clip from the movie, including Harrison Ford. The room went wild.
11:49 AM Cline is so excited about how the virtual reality is portrayed in this film. He thinks we’re going to see a huge change jump forward in demand for and technology involving VR.
11:47 AM The cast is on stage now. T.J. Miller dressed up in an E.T. shirt and Back to the Future shoes. Hardwicke thought his Jurassic Park patch was gonna be enough, but Miller totally outshone him.
11:44 AM We just saw the trailer for Ready Player One, which included and intro to life in the Stacks and then our first glimpse of the Oasis, We see Wade navigating the virtual word and it looked slick, furturistic, and full of action.
11:39 AM Ernest Cline and Steven Spielberg are chatting about how amazing Ready Player One is. Spielberg thought they were going to need a younger director. Footage incoming.
11:37 AM Chris Hardwick just introduced the panel for Ready Player One, along with a huge intro and logo for the movie.
11:33 AM The screens are expanding and the entire hall just turned into one big cinema, They just showed clips of all of WB’s biggest properties, including Lord of the Rings, Fantastic Beasts, Suicide Squad. Everyone lost their minds when Wonder Woman showed up on screen.
11:30 AM The entire hall is clapping in anticipation of the panel starting. Everyone is hyped and the atmosphere is great here.
11:22 AM Just grabbed a seat in Hall H. A little less than 10 minutes to go before we see the cast of Justice League, Blade Runner, and Ready Player One.
