Check out the first few minutes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 8, which picks up in the decidedly less-than-glamorous aftermath of Thor: The Dark World.
The opening sequence from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 8 has been released and wastes no time in showing viewers both the grandeur and the grime of the Marvel universe. The episode, titled “The Well,” will pick up in the aftermath of Marvel’s most recent blockbuster, Thor: The Dark World.
In the opening sequence, Agent Coulson’s team joins the clean-up crew collecting the alien debris left behind when the God of Thunder and Malekith threw down in the unsuspecting neighborhood of Greenwich.
Skye is thrilled to learn about the alien origins of Norse mythology, and the only member of the team who is excited at the prospect of handling Asgardian material. The rest of Coulson’s crew is overwhelmed by rubble and work, and are keen to make sure that not so much as a pebble of alien artifact wind up in human hands.
Unfortunately, these fears are already underway. Elsewhere, a couple with odd accents and a riddling map take out a buzz-saw and take down a tree in a forest preserve. They discover a short and clearly extra-terrestrial baton in the trunk; when the woman grips it, she is overwhelmed with rage and imbued with supernatural punching power.
So that’s not good.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 8 will be directed by prolific TV director (and Joss Whedon alum) Jonathan Frakes. For a closer look at what his work on “The Well” will look like, check out the preview and still photos from Tuesday’s episode.
Actress Chloe Bennet (Skye) recently spoke to Hypable about the epic episode, and dropped hints about Agent Ward’s emotional journey through the story. The official summary for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 8 suggests that the stakes will be formidable.
In the aftermath of the events chronicled in the feature film THOR: THE DARK WORLD, Coulson and The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. pick up the pieces — one of which threatens to destroy a member of the team.
Or should we say, “Thor-midable?”
