The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug extended edition will be released on November 4, and today Warner Bros. have released two deleted scenes featuring Gandalf and Thorin Oakenshield.

The highly anticipated The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug Blu-ray extended edition is nearly here, just a month before the final film hits theaters, and we’ll be getting a chance to enjoy an extra 25 minutes of footage.

Director Peter Jackson is a master at creating extended editions for his films and fans have begun holding out on their purchase of the film on its first Blu-ray release so that they can pick up the extended edition as soon as it arrives.

These two scenes released today give us a great look at some of the more interesting details that just couldn’t make it into the theatrical release, and we can’t wait to see what Jackson has in store for the rest extended edition.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’s extended edition will also include audio commentary from director Peter Jackson, and co-screenwriter and producer Philippa Boyens and will include the highly regarded “The Appendices,” which feature nearly nine hours of behind-the-scenes footage.

This extended edition will be a great way to hold fans over until The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies hits theaters on December 17.
