A sinister force is endangering innocent newspapers in the opening sequence of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 9.

The opening sequence of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 9 has been revealed, introducing a young woman straddling the lines between villain and victim.

The episode, titled “Repairs,” will bring Agent Coulson’s team to the case of Hannah, the young woman at the nexus of events in the opening sequence.

In the sneak peek, Hannah is accused by a gas station owner of being responsible for a laboratory accident in which four people were killed. Hannah grows upset at the accusations, and she tries to leave, but the owner finds himself pelted with flying groceries as he stops her – though she insists she is not responsible for the storm of canned goods and collapsing shelves.

The owner staggers outside to find the gas pumps leaking and nearby stacks of newspapers aflame. Hannah cowers inside the store, praying “Not again,” and screaming when the gas pumps explode outside.

Though it initially seems that Hannah’s case is one of simple telekinesis, we can glean from the preview for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 9 that Hannah believes that a sinister force is at play.

The official summary for “Repairs” seems to agree with Hannah.

Coulson and his team are haunted by a mysterious force that threatens to destroy them all, and only a secret from May’s past can save them.

Whether or not Hannah is being haunted, it will be fantastic to see Agent May stand in the episode’s spotlight. This may give fans insight into the traumatic incident which took her out of the field, or it might be another memory from May’s time as a field agent, but either way, any new information will be more than welcome!

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 9, “Repairs,” will air on Nov. 26 at 8:00 p.m. on ABC.
