Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 6 will air next Tuesday on ABC. The episode, titled “F.Z.Z.T.” (we have no idea what that means), will reportedly focus on a rash of mysterious deaths that leave the victims floating in midair.
The first of these cases plays out in the cold open to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 6, which has been released on the Huffington Post. The eerie clip is a perfect reveal for Halloween night, and really drives home the fact that people who tell scary stories around campfires are just asking for trouble.
Or weird, floating death in this case.
In the cold open to “F.Z.Z.T.” a group of boy scouts on a camping trip listen to a scary story about “the crying man.” After feigning a crying noise, the troop leader, Mr. Cross, walks off to investigate a mysterious buzzing noise which only he can hear.
Suddenly, a tin cup begins hovering in the air. As it falls, crackling with electricity, Mr. Cross lets out a yell from out in the woods. The terrified scouts hide in their truck, which is then blasted by electricity. The scouts look for Cross, only to find him dead, suspended in the air, his body laced with electrical currents.
A new image from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 6 gives us a glimpse at the investigation, which follows the creepy events of the cold open.

It’s tough to speculate just what or who the killer culprit might be in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 6, though it looks like conductive metals may have something to do with it. At the same time, we can’t suss out the meaning of the mysterious – and specific – buzzing noise, but we suspect this may be more than just your average case of criminal electrokenesis.
The official synopsis for “F.Z.Z.T.” stays mum on the specifics on the episode’s mystery, though it does highlight the stakes faced by Coulson’s team:
When floating bodies turn up, Coulson and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D must hunt down an elusive killer. No one is safe — not even the team.
