One of the last Oscar-contenders for 2011 that remains to be seen is Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, the 9/11 drama based off the book by Jonathan Safran Foer. A second trailer for the film has now been released, take a look at it after the break.

Here’s a quick synopsis of the film:

A nine-year-old amateur inventor, jewelry designer, astrophysicist, tambourine player, and pacifist searches New York for the lock that matches a mysterious key left by his father when he was killed in the September 11 attacks.

The film stars newcomer Thomas Horn, Tom Hanks (Forrest Gump), Sandra Bullock (The Blind Side), Jeffrey Wright (Source Code), Viola Davis (The Help), Max Von Sydow (The Exorcist), John Goodman (The Big Lebowski), and James Gandolfini (“The Sorpranos”). The film is directed by Stephen Daldry (The Reader).
