The first trailer for Bernie, from acclaimed director Richard Linklater (Dazed & Confused, The School of Rock), has hit the web. Take a look at the trailer, starring Jack Black and Matthew McConaughey, after the jump!

Here’s a synopsis for the film:

In the small town of Carthage, Texas, the local mortician (Black) strikes up a friendship with a wealthy widow (Shirley MacLaine), though when he kills her, he goes to great lengths to create the illusion that she’s alive.
