Deadline is reporting that Warner Bros. is in final negotiations with Safe House helmer Daniel Espinoza to direct the WWII POW actioner The Outsider.

Deadline describes the project as a “gritty” action film, which follows a POW in Osaka during WWII who goes to work for the Yakuza. The script was penned by Andrew Baldwin.

Farther/son producing team Art and John Linson, producers of the FX drama “Sons of Anarchy,” are funding the project in conjunction with Warner Bros. Were you a fan of Espinoza’s direction in Safe House? Are you interested in The Outsider?
