With the groundbreaking viewer numbers for The Walking Dead season 3 premiere, the show is off to an incredible start. In this Walking Dead video, actor Steven Yeun dishes about the gory premiere, Maggie’s fighter skills, and what to expect later this season.

When Access Hollywood asked Steven Yeun, who plays Glenn, what it was like to watch Andrew Lincoln chop off Hershel’s leg, he was thrilled by the experience.

“We just sat there watching him destroy this leg. It was amazing.”

On the romantic side of Glenn’s life, his relationship with Maggie is stronger than ever. She is definitely coming into her own as a survivalist fighter.

“She’s celebrating victory. She’s starting to step up as part of that front, forward, marine-type of group.”

We have seen a lot of growth in Maggie, but Glenn is figuring out his role in the group as well. Rick trusts him and relies on him to soften Rick’s own tough leadership edge. The rest of the group trusts Glenn as well.

With next week’s episode, we’ll meet the Governor. He’s already been slated to make his place known as a major villain, but what can we expect from him?

“Just get ready for an amazing experience. I think the heart of this show is that it constantly evolves and it brings new threats and new situations and that’s going to be a perfect example of one of those new threats.”

The numbers for The Walking Dead are through the roof, with an overall 15 million viewers for the season 3 premiere, and Yeun is really appreciative of the fans.

“It’s really flattering to have people really enjoy our show and we got Dish network back, so that’s awesome.”

We expect those numbers to keep going up, and we hope to see the show keep running for quite awhile.
