Those of us who are on edge about Glenn’s future on The Walking Dead have just received another reason to worry.

Actor Steven Yeun has joined an indie action-thriller titled Mayhem, which will begin filming at the end of this month, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The movie will co-star Samara Weaving and is being directed by Mike Cahill.

Why is this worrying? Spoiler warning!

Steven Yeun’s character on The Walking Dead dies in the comic series the TV show is based on, and at a point that the AMC series is quickly approaching. Fans are expecting Glenn to bite the bullet (or should we say “bite the bat?”) in the season 6 finale when Rick and company finally meet Negan, who we’ve been hearing about in recent episodes.

If filming will begin at the end of March, that could mean that Yeun will have finished shooting this film by May, which is when filming on The Walking Dead season 7 is expected to get underway. But that’s cutting it really close, and makes us wonder if Steven Yeun’s schedule in 2016 is Walking Dead-less.

With so many people expecting Glenn to die, some think that the showrunners may throw us a curveball and kill someone else, like his pregnant wife Maggie. A death like that would cause similar emotional impact and explain why they did the Glenn fake-out earlier in season 6.

There’s also this worrisome truth: Steven Yeun hasn’t starred in any films in recent years except for one in 2014, which was shot in 2013. The rest of his resumé in recent years consists of voice roles, one-time TV gigs, and, of course, The Walking Dead.

Seeing the actor take on a bigger film role like Mayhem at the same time that fans are expecting Glenn to die is a stressful sight. Hopefully we’ll receive some concrete answers about Glenn’s future on The Walking Dead by the season finale. Don’t leave us hanging, TWD team!
