The Walking Dead spinoff titled Fear The Walking Dead’s first teaser premiered during season 5’s finale, and it shows that its storyline will begin prior to the zombie apocalypse.
Fear The Walking Dead, The Walking Dead spinoff set to debut this summer, will start pre-apocalypse, with much of the city of Los Angeles experiencing the outbreak slowly when only an illness begins to spread around town. Watch the first teaser, which aired during The Walking Dead season 5 finale Sunday night:
Fear The Walking Dead received its first pilot order back in September 2014. It wasn’t surprising considering The Walking Dead is such a popular show, with over 10 million viewers each week. Fear The Walking Dead is bound to be a success, and that’s most likely why the title is so similar — so that AMC can get cross promotion between the two shows.
In the first teaser for The Walking Dead spinoff, Fear The Walking Dead, we see what looks like a very early look at L.A. as the outbreak starts to spread at the beginning of the apocalypse, which means we’ll get a look at what happened prior to The Walking Dead’s first season.
It’ll be exciting to see what was happening in another location in the U.S., and how different things might be somewhere other than Atlanta. Los Angeles will give the writers a lot of different storylines that they can run with, and the footage looks promising.
We hear a news reporter revealing to the public that “there are reports in five states that a strange virus” is going around and that if anyone isn’t feeling well they should not go to work or school, but instead they should “go home and take care of yourself.” It should be interesting to see how quickly the virus will turn into what we know now will be a world-ending event.
We look forward to seeing more footage from Fear The Walking Dead, which AMC has already ordered two seasons of, with season 1 running for six episodes and premiering in “late summer.”
