It’s been made quite clear that Michonne is extremely wary of the Governor and the whole situation at Woodbury. In this Walking Dead sneak peek, we see her attempting to get back her katana from the Governor’s hands.
Michonne is angry about the situation at Woodbury, and it’s clear in this Walking Dead sneak peek that she and the Governor are not going to be best friends. Take a look at the Walking Dead sneak peek for “Say the Word” to see what Michonne might do next.
The Governor tries to manipulate Michonne when he suggests, “How about this: I keep a lid on your little outburst, you join the research team. You obviously have skills. You’re not afraid of biters. Merel’ll take care of you.”
Then she strikes. Catching the Governor off-guard, Michonne quickly grabs her sword from him and holds it to his throat. The next 15 seconds are incredibly tense as Michonne fumes, threatening to slice the Governor’s throat open.
Neither the Governor nor Michonne say a word, but they both stare daggers at each other. Will Michonne actually kill the Governor? We learn in the comics how much anger she has toward him, but in the show we haven’t really seen him treat her badly (yet).
If Michonne did kill the Governor in this moment, she would have too many people to answer to, including Merle, who would be out for her blood. She could definitely take him, but we don’t think she’ll kill the Governor in the scene that follows this clip. He has too big of a role in the show.
What will Michonne do now? Will she leave? If she does leave, will she take Andrea? Michonne’s introduction and storyline in the show have already been quite different from the comics, so we’re not entirely sure what to expect from her character.
