Survival of the fittest. It’s been a theme across The Walking Dead’s four seasons but really took a front seat in the most recent episodes.

A new poster for The Walking Dead season 5, set to debut this October on AMC, follows a design aesthetic seen in posters which promoted the finale.

This season 5 poster depicts Rick alone and looking down with the word “survive” scrawled across the top.

Rick had one heck of a role during the season 4 finale this past Sunday. The character watched a bad man take hold of and almost rape his son, but stopped it by stabbing the man multiple times. He also delivered a fatal bite into Joe’s neck – something we’d yet to see a human do on the show until now.

At the end of the episode Rick, Carl, and Michonne penetrated Terminus but ended up in a train car labeled “A.” The good news was that they were reunited with Glenn, Maggie, and the rest of their friends who they haven’t seen since The Governor’s take down of the prison in the mid-season 4 finale. Last Sunday’s episode concluded with Rick telling his group that Gareth and the people of Terminus are messing with the wrong people.

Diehard fans of The Walking Dead may recall that AMC released a first look at season 4 shortly after the new episodes began filming, so we’re hoping that they do a similar release when cameras begin to roll on season 5.
