AMC has released a scene from The Walking Dead season 4 premiere episode, and in it we see things are spruced up at the prison thanks to Gardener Rick.

In the clip, Rick walks out of the confines of the prison and we see that the grounds have been tidied up quite a bit: Potted flowers, sheds, an outdoor eating area, and a big garden have been built over the past month since we last saw the survivors.

As Rick works on some new plants he comes across a buried gun. Dusting it off and pulling an earbud that’s playing music out of his ear, the character played by Andrew Lincoln looks over at the zombies at the fence and considers firing at them with his new-found weapon.

Also today the network released a season 3 recap video to remind viewers where we left off. The Walking Dead season 3 finished its run six months ago, so this refresher video will help you recall the major events:

Finally the network released a new on-set interview with actor Norman Reedus who plays fan favorite character Daryl Dixon. In it, he talks about tips for becoming a bad ass character. “If you believe what you’re fighting for, it comes out bad ass,” says the actor.

The Walking Dead season 4, episode 1 “30 Days Without An Accident” premieres this Sunday, October 13 at 9 p.m. eastern/pacific on AMC. The synopses for the first four episodes suggest that while things start off nicely after a period of time where the characters have enjoyed tranquil living conditions, all hell is about to break loose once again.

Is gardening a good pastime for Rick, or should he leave that up to another character?
