We all remember that when The Walking Dead season 4 ended in March, most of the characters had arrived at Terminus and were quickly locked up. What else went down?

As you prepare for this weekend’s Walking Dead season 5 premiere (Sunday, October 12 at 9 p.m. eastern/pacific), let us remind you about what happened at the end of season 4!

First, the most obvious: At the very end of the season 4 finale, Rick, Carl, Glenn, Maggie, Tara, Bob, Eugene, Abraham, Rosita, and Sasha were all trapped in a train car at Terminus. They’ve been placed there by Gareth and company, who appear to be into cannibalism and may want to dine on Rick and co. Or maybe they’re shocked by this kick-ass group of people who brought a wide range of weaponry and skills to their compound.

“They’re screwing with the wrong people,” Rick tells his friends right before the curtain closes on the season. This line caused controversy amongst fans because in the comics Rick says “fucking” instead of “screwing.”

All signs point to season 5 picking up exactly where we left off. Our Walking Dead friends are going to find a way out of the train car and start kicking some serious Terminus butt. In previews for season 5 we see that Rick and Gareth will eventually learn to co-exist with each other before the former decides that he’s heading to Washington D.C. in search of the zombie infection’s cure.

People who did not show up at Terminus before season 4 closed: Carol, Tyreese, Judith, and Beth. Three of those names will be on the road together and as they search for Terminus, a clip from the season 5 premiere indicates.

Meanwhile, Beth is caught up in a mystery of her own. You may remember that at the end of season 4 she was captured by an unknown person. While we still have no clue where she was taken, in the season 5 trailer she’s wearing scrubs in some sort of hospital.

The Walking Dead season 5 San Diego Comic-Con trailer offers the most clues about what the new episodes have in store for us. For example: Carol and Daryl will be teaming up again. Father Gabriel has joined the show and will probably offer his church as a shelter for Rick. And perhaps most exciting, Judith will finally be reunited with her father.

What do you think ‘The Walking Dead’ season 5 has in store?

Critics who’ve seen episode 1 say this Sunday’s season 5 opener is one of the most-action packed episodes in the history of the show, and that it may be the best episode since the series’ pilot which aired in 2010. Make sure you’re in front of your television as soon as it begins!
