This Sunday’s new Walking Dead season 4, episode 7 appears to continue holding the spotlight on the Governor.

In a new clip and photos released by AMC today, we see the Governor with two of his “friends” on some sort of journey through the woods. They come across a body that was tied to a tree, and the person’s killer ominously left a note on the person that says “liar.”

In the below photos from The Walking Dead season 4, episode 7, titled “Dead Weight,” we see the Governor playing a round of golf and wielding a gun.

We assume these photos take place after the events of the episode 6 storyline where we saw what happened to the Governor after he lost Woodbury. As we explained in our Walking Dead recap, the Governor set out on his own and entered a state of depression. He later came across a small family that he wants to make his own.

Reports in recent months have indicated that the Governor only appears in “a pair” of episodes this season. Based on the plot so far in which we see him far removed from the prison, it looks like he may not be encountering Rick and company after all.

The break from the infection at the prison is welcomed by viewers. We assume by episode 8 we’ll be back inside the walls of the jail cells, and maybe a small time jump will have moved the survivors’ remedy progress along.

Catch The Walking Dead season 4, episode 7 “Dead Weight (which rhymes with last week’s episode title, “Live Bait”) this Sunday at 9 p.m. eastern/pacific on AMC.
