AMC has released The Walking Dead season 4 premiere episode online for free streaming to attract potential new viewers to the series.

Not like it needs them. The Walking Dead season 4, episode 1 premiered this past Sunday to a record-breaking 16.1 million viewers. That number of United States zombie lovers blew out all previous records for the show (which were previously as high as 12 million).

You can watch the episode online for free at AMC’s website. It will be available to the public for three weeks. Enjoy!

Future episodes of the show will only be available via login for those who are cable subscribers.

In The Walking Dead season 4, episode 1, “Rick and the group are as close to an ideal life as possible at the prison. Will they be able to hold on to humanity in the face of a new evil?” reads the official synopsis from AMC.

Meanwhile, new episodes of The Walking Dead will continue to air every Sunday at 9 p.m. eastern/pacific. Given the strong season premiere, we won’t be surprised if the season breaks new records when the mid season finale and the overall season finale come to a close in the months ahead.

What do you think will happen in the weeks ahead on the top rated cable drama? And will the ratings continue to climb, or is the show peaking? AMC hopes that the show will continue to grow, as they’ve announced that they’re developing a spinoff which’ll debut in 2015.
