After much anticipation, The Walking Dead is finally back with its third season! The season premiere just finished airing, and we’d like to know, what did you think?!

When we last left our band of survivors at the end of season 2, they had been run off of Herschel’s farm and were on the road, looking for a new place to call home. Rick was leading the group, and made the famous declaration, “This isn’t a democracy anymore.”

It’s now a Ricktatorship. Rick’s group now consists of pregnant Lori, Carl, T-Dog, Carol, Daryl, Glenn, Maggie, Herschel, and Beth. We had some crucial deaths last season, which included Dale being attacked by a walker (one Carl failed to kill earlier in the episode) and Shane. Rick ended up killing Shane because he was planning on doing the same thing to Rick.

Then Carl killed the zombie version of Shane. Due to Shane’s “resurrection” as a zombie, Rick confirmed his theory that everyone was infected with whatever this plague is causing the walker conversion. If you die (and it doesn’t matter if you die by zombie bite), you will turn into one of them. Rick shared this with his group, and it greatly upset them.

Andrea was separated from the group after Herschel’s farm was overrun. While trying to fight off walkers, she was saved by a mysterious woman, who we will come to know as Michonne.

The final scene of season 2’s finale ominously showed us how close the main group is to a giant prison, but they don’t know it yet. We can only assume that the gang is going to make their camp at this fortified structure.

From the sneak peek clip released earlier this week, we saw the group trying to get their bearings and map out a plan. This scene must have taken place before they stumbled upon the prison.

We’ve been excitedly waiting for The Walking Dead season 3 premiere, and now it has just aired!
