Even the humans in The Walking Dead apocalypse have to set New Years resolutions so that they can have something to work on in 2014.

To celebrate this week’s Walking Dead marathon which kicked off this morning on AMC, we have two exclusive first looks at Rick and Carl’s resolutions which will appear around the web tomorrow, New Years Day.

These two resolutions are particularly poignant given the events of the midseason finale. The humans lost their coveted prison which had provided protection for an extended amount of time, and life at the start of season 4 was so pleasant that Rick built a garden. Now that it’s gone up in flames, he’ll have to start a new garden elsewhere.

The second resolution is between Rick and Carl about spending more time together. This one pulls at our heartstrings because we don’t know whether baby Judith is dead or alive. Rick and Carl think she’s deceased, but some viewers believe that one of the other humans picked her up and ran to safety.

The Walking Dead marathon is running now through January 2 and includes every single episode to date.

The Walking Dead season 4 resumes on February 9, 2013 and will pick up after the midseason finale when The Governor was killed and Rick lost the prison.
