Steven Yeun’s Glenn of The Walking Dead has become a fan favorite over the past two seasons with his quickness and sweet inability to lie. Get a look into how this season’s prison setting is affecting the characters.

At the end of last season, the group stumbled upon an enormous, seemingly abandoned prison, which they now plan to make their headquarters. Going from the open fields of Herschel’s farm, now being stuck inside of a prison has a much different feeling.

In an interview with The Clicker, Steven Yeun opens up about how this new territory affects the psychologies of the survivors:

It’s claustrophobic. Last year, we were really happy with the fact that outside, the outdoors (at the farm) was really another character that helped us do these themes because we were miserable. We looked miserable, but in a good way. This season, we were thinking, ‘Oh man, once we go on stages, we’re gonna really have to act out certain things.’ But man, they did a great job and (the prison is) just as terrible as outside.

Earlier today we shared with you 10 newly released photos from the October 14 season premiere, which included many of the prison, inside and out.

In the interview, Yeun also discusses Glenn’s relationship with Maggie, and how their post-apocalyptic situation affects their love life. There are so many factors to think about other than their feelings.

Yeun muses, “I think that is definitely going to be a crux of this season in terms of their relationship, seeing what a relationship looks like with all these afflictions.”

We see Glenn as such a strong, important character in the group. He’s growing with every season, and Yeun recognizes this as well:

“I think Glenn has a good gut. And the third season is him kind of putting that into action and realizing that he has people to protect, loved ones he has to live for. He can really trust his own decisions. That doesn’t come without consequences.”

How will Glenn grow this season? Will he and Maggie survive as a couple?
