When Sunday’s season premiere of The Walking Dead aired, we only got a few brief glimpses of Andrea and Michonne. So can we expect to see more of them in the next episode?

Apparently not, but Robert Kirkman shares with TVLine that we will definitely be seeing more of them…eventually. Look out for some potential spoilers.

“We have a lot planned for them. It ends up being almost two entirely separate casts and two entirely separate shows — we’ve got the Governor and Woodbury, and we have Rick and everyone at the prison.”

So when can we expect the two casts to collide? With the 16-episode season, will they make us wait until near the end? We hope not.

In the comics, Rick, Glenn, and Michonne stumble upon Woodbury after they chase down a helicopter that has crashed. When they learn other survivors got to the crash site before them, they start looking for a camp close by. That’s when they find Woodbury and the Governor.

They’re immediately stripped of their weapons and soon realize they are not safe with this psychotic leader. His only reason for keeping them alive (and not feeding them to Woodbury’s zombie pets) is because he (correctly) assumes they have a camp of their own nearby with supplies the Governor and Woodbury could use. Lots of torture ensues.

Will Andrea and Michonne meet the same fate?

In the few glimpses we’ve seen of them in Woodbury, they seem relatively safe. Their weapons have been taken from them, but the Governor stresses to them that they are not prisoners.

He said the same thing to Rick, Michonne, and Glenn in the comics though.

Will they face similar torture? However, the difference between Michonne and Andrea’s situation and Rick, Glenn, and Michonne’s in the comics is that Michonne and Andrea in the show have no idea where the rest of their main group is. Michonne has never even met them, and technically Andrea doesn’t know if they’ve survived.

Our guess is that Andrea is going to ask the Governor to help them find her friends, and he’s going to see that as an opportunity to gain their resources. He won’t pose a threat to them until they lead them to Rick’s crew at the prison.

Backtracking a little, what about the helicopter? We saw it in the preview for the season, and it looks like it might be crashing. So maybe the original storyline from the comics about what causes Rick’s camp and the Governor to meet will stay similar, with them both searching for survivors from the helicopter wreckage.

We can’t be too sure because we haven’t really seen any interactions between Rick and the Governor in this season’s promos. We assume they’re doing that on purpose.

When the prison and Woodbury collide, how will it go?
