Wagner Moura – star of Elite Squad and Neill Blomkamp’s (District 9) upcoming Elysium – is set to play Federico Fellini in Henry Bromell’s (HBO’s “Homeland”) upcoming film Fellini Black and White.

Variety is reporting:

Mad Chance principal Andrew Lazar is producing the pic, which has Terrence Howard, Peter Dinklage (“Game of Thrones”) and William H. Macy (“Shameless”) attached to play supporting roles.

Set in Los Angeles in March of 1957, story follows Fellini’s first voyage to America to attend the Oscars, during which he went missing for 48 hours and barely made it to the ceremony. Pic postulates what might have happened during those two days, after which the helmer returned to Italy and directed his two most revered films, “La Dolce Vita” and “8 1/2.”

Moura’s star is rising in Hollywood after starring in Elite Squad and it’s sequel, which were huge international successes both critically and at the box-office. He is next set to play the villain opposite Matt Damon in Neill Blomkamp’s Elysium. Are you interested in seeing Fellini Black and White?
