Hypable had the opportunity to preview the second episode of Voltron: Legendary Defender season 2 at New York Comic Con. Now, we’re sharing 5 teasers for the episode in anticipation of Voltron‘s January 20, 2017 premiere.

January feels as though it’s an age away for Voltron fans, especially considering the tumultuous end to the first season. But for those who were in attendance at New York Comic Con, their worries have been eased. If only a little.

Of course, not everyone had the opportunity to attend New York Comic Con. So we’re going to do our best to tease the second episode of Voltron season 2, without spoiling it outright.

Warning: Some minor spoilers will still be present. Avert your eyes if you’d prefer to go in to Voltron season 2 blind.

  1. We’re introduced to our first new planet and species. It’s no secret that Lance and Hunk crash land underwater, but the species they encounter is one that made Lauren Montgomery (executive producer) incredibly happy. Not to mention, Lance is endlessly delighted by the discovery.
  2. Lance has the opportunity to use his leadership skills. With the rest of the Paladins AWOL, and Hunk out of commission (for a reason we won’t spoil), Lance has only himself to rely on. Mostly. His potential for leadership is on display throughout the episode, but he wouldn’t be Lance without a few more lighthearted moments.

  3. Hunk and Lance exert their combat skills. Without their respective Lions to rely on, due to complications from the wormhole, Lance and Hunk have to utilize their hand-to-hand combat skills. One fight in particular showcases just how well the two know each other, though it’s incredibly difficult to watch.
  4. One of the Lions gets an upgrade. That they’re on a water planet is a huge clue as to which Lion is the recipient of said upgrade and, with the promise of higher stakes in the second season, will likely be incredibly useful sooner rather than later.
  5. A Paladin is rewarded for their actions by one of the planet’s inhabitants. It doesn’t pan out how they might have liked, however.
