We’ve gotten some juicy teases about Vixen, the animated series that will air on CW Seed and take place in the same universe as Arrow and The Flash.

We learned back in January that a Vixen series was in the works at The CW. TV Guide’s Comic-Con issue is now sharing some juicy teases about the series.

First, we have a voice for our titular heroine. Megalyn Echikunwoke, whose numerous credits include The Following, House of Lies and CSI: Miami, will voice Mari McCable, aka Vixen.

Next, we know the series will run a total of six 30-minute episodes on CW Seed during the summer hiatus. Though the series will air while Arrow and The Flash are on break, characters from those shows won’t be missing. Arrow‘s Stephen Amell (Oliver Queen) and Emily Bett Rickards (Felicity Smoak) and The Flash‘s Grant Gustin and Carlos Valdes (Cisco Ramon) will appear in the series — or their voices will, at least.

Furthermore, the six episodes will tell a single “coming-of-age story,” says executive producer Marc Guggenheim. Mari will discover “a mysterious totem she inherited from her now-deceased parents bestows magical abilities.”

More precisely, the totem “gives her the powers of any animal on Earth,” Guggenheim explains. For example, Vixen “can fly like an eagle, she can have the strength of a gorilla, she can run as fast as a cheetah” with her totem.

With this introduction of magic to the world of Arrow and The Flash, Guggenheim says, “We’re continuing to build and expand the tapestry that we have to play with.”

No word as of yet whether Vixen has the potential to transition to live action.
